In the board game Catan and its extensions, players build cities and roads on an island divided in hexagonal tiles.
Many resources and commodities can be collected after rolling dices and spent in these constructions:
- in hills you can get bricks
- in pastures sheep produce wool and weave cloth
- in mountains you can mine ore and mold coins
- in fields you can harvest grain
- in forest you can gather lumber and turn wood into paper
- deserts produce nothing
